Santas Land Fun Park & Zoo opened its doors for the first time in June 1966, with one low admission price. We’ve been entertaining generations in our park is filled with whimsy and excitement.

Danny Lyons is the park’s president and owner. I got on-the-job training and learned by trial and error. I visited other Parks, talked to experienced individuals throughout the years, and learned about amusement park operations and ride maintenance. I grew up in a family involved in the construction industry, so I learned at an early age about building, remodeling, and demolition. We worked construction for the restaurant, motel, and rental homes industry from excavating to the finished project. I started in an empty field at 22 years old,” he recalls.

Santa’s Land does some advertising, but not much notes Lyons. We are within 50 miles (80 km) of three states, Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina. I have advertised and promoted SantasLand Fun Park & Zoo on television in Southern Virginia and Northern Florida. However, our guests come from all over the United States, Canada, and different countries worldwide. Marketing is done through billboards, brochures, and local businesses. Only about five percent of the park’s gross sales come from group sales through tours, birthday parties, school trips. Most of their guests learn of the park by word of mouth, passed down from generation to generation. As the children grow up and have children of their own, they bring their children and, eventually, their grandchildren. It’s a very family-oriented park geared toward children, mostly from ages one through 12.
